{"id":794,"date":"2017-11-19T14:49:03","date_gmt":"2017-11-19T21:49:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/noahdyer.com\/campaign\/?p=794"},"modified":"2018-04-01T10:09:45","modified_gmt":"2018-04-01T17:09:45","slug":"arizonas-favorite-candidate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/noahdyer.com\/campaign\/arizonas-favorite-candidate\/","title":{"rendered":"According to a Recent Poll, I&#8217;m the Favorite!"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>The Punchline<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>According to a recent poll, I&#8217;m Arizona Voters&#8217; favorite candidate&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;But I&#8217;m not yet favored to win.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>How Can Both Those Things Be True at the Same Time?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>A recent poll asked likely voters across the political spectrum to envision a race between David Garcia (the current Democratic front-runner), Doug Ducey (the incumbent Republican Governor), Kevin McCormick (Libertarian front-runner) and myself. \u00a0According to their results, I am better liked than all the others. \u00a0On a scale of 1 to 4, where 1 is the best possible score (meaning everyone would vote for you first) and 4 the worst possible score (meaning everyone would vote for you last), I received the highest score at 2.3.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-828\" src=\"https:\/\/noahdyer.com\/campaign\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Favorite-candidates.jpg\" alt=\"Favorite candidates\" width=\"800\" height=\"800\" srcset=\"https:\/\/noahdyer.com\/campaign\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Favorite-candidates.jpg 800w, https:\/\/noahdyer.com\/campaign\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Favorite-candidates-80x80.jpg 80w, https:\/\/noahdyer.com\/campaign\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Favorite-candidates-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/noahdyer.com\/campaign\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Favorite-candidates-768x768.jpg 768w, https:\/\/noahdyer.com\/campaign\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Favorite-candidates-36x36.jpg 36w, https:\/\/noahdyer.com\/campaign\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Favorite-candidates-180x180.jpg 180w, https:\/\/noahdyer.com\/campaign\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Favorite-candidates-705x705.jpg 705w, https:\/\/noahdyer.com\/campaign\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Favorite-candidates-120x120.jpg 120w, https:\/\/noahdyer.com\/campaign\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Favorite-candidates-450x450.jpg 450w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A second poll that excluded the Libertarian candidate\u00a0had me favored even more strongly.<\/p>\n<p>However, if the election were today, I&#8217;d only receive 18.9% of the vote, with most of the votes going to the major party candidates.<\/p>\n<p>How is that possible? \u00a0Well basically, as of today, I&#8217;m the 1st choice for almost 20% of the voters. \u00a0But of the remaining 80%, I&#8217;m almost universally the 2nd choice, whereas Doug Ducey and David Garcia are very frequently voters&#8217; last choice.<\/p>\n<h2>What Does It Mean?<\/h2>\n<p>Less than 9 months ago, no one in the political world knew my name. \u00a0Today, with very little money and an excellent team of dedicated volunteers, almost 20% of Arizonans are ready to give me their one and only vote. \u00a0This is incredibly humbling and a true honor.<\/p>\n<p>In a tight race, which my race is shaping up to be, as little as 25.1% can win, but the winner will more likely need 35-40%, as the Libertarian candidate is not likely to gain significant traction. If I&#8217;m able to continue capturing votes from Democrats and Republicans equally, then we&#8217;re over half way to the goal. \u00a0Think about that. \u00a0<strong>Less than halfway through the race and with very few resources, we&#8217;re already over halfway to beating the major parties!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Lastly, this data suggests that I am not likely to pull significantly more votes away from one party than the other, thereby handing the race to the other candidate most unlike me. \u00a0That&#8217;s not surprising because I&#8217;m unlike any other candidate!<\/p>\n<h2>What can you do? 20 for 20%!<\/h2>\n<p>We need to keep up the momentum. \u00a0We need to win voters from the broken parties every day.\u00a0 If we can get another 20% of the voters, we&#8217;re almost guaranteed a win.<\/p>\n<p>There are 2 things you can do to make sure that happens:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/noahdyer.com\/campaign\/get-involved\/\">Volunteer<\/a> on my campaign.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/noahdyer.com\/campaign\/donate\/\">Donate<\/a>\u00a0$20 to my campaign to help me get the next 20%.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Again, thank you for your support! \u00a0It means a lot, and it&#8217;s making a difference!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Punchline According to a recent poll, I&#8217;m Arizona Voters&#8217; favorite candidate&#8230; &#8230;But I&#8217;m not yet favored to win.
